Family Finds Support and Home at Tammy Lynn

Sharon and Shalom's first experience with Tammy Lynn Center was receiving services for their son Jeremy through the Early Childhood Intervention Program. While Jeremy was able to attend a neighborhood school and be with his family and friends, Sharon and Shalom found it difficult to find services for Jeremy in their home.

Then they found out about Tammy Lynn's Community Residential Program. "It was a godsend for all of us," says Sharon. The decision to move Jeremy into one of Tammy Lynn's homes was not easy one, but it was the best one the family could make. "Jeremy actually adjusted better than we did," recalls Sharon. "Jeremy is living in a lovely home with three other guys that are very similar and it is great!"

Residents in the Community Residential Program are nurtured and challenged continuously to become as independent as possible. Families remain actively involved in their loved ones' lives through regular visits and participation in treatment plans. And both Jeremy and his parents both have a newfound freedom. "Now we can come and go as we need to, and Jeremy is having a wonderful time," says Sharon. "I am thrilled he is enjoying his own life and living more independently!"

You can help individuals with developmental disabilities continue to live in a loving, nurturing, and independent environment. Make the decision to support the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities today!

Voices Together Perform at TLC

Students and residents at the Tammy Lynn Center received a real special treat this month! Voices Together, a performing chorus featuring talented musicians with developmental disabilities, held a special performance at the Center on May 21st. A group of 11 individuals, directed by Dr. Katherine Boyes, performed several beautiful and inspirational songs. Students also participated in the performance as they played musical instruments along with their Voices Together friends! Thank you Voices Together for visiting with us!
