About us: The Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities offers educational, residential and family support services to children and adults with special needs.  The Center's goal is to provide the individuals it serves the opportunity to maximize their abilities in a loving, nurturing environment.

Minimum Education/ Experience:

Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.  Preference given for work experience in pediatrics/developmental disabilities or ICF/MR experience.

A current, validated license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in North Carolina.  Current certification in First Aid and CPR. Valid North Carolina driver’s license required.

Brief Description of Work Performed:

Provide quality nursing care to all students and residents. Assist with all health care policies, procedures, and services   including, but not limited to the following: medication administration, treatment procedures and therapy procedures, provision of direct nursing care to clients as needed. Assess daily health care and medical care needs of clients on a daily basis and ensure that care is delivered in a safe and therapeutic manner. Assist in planning needed care for clients and ensure that all care procedures are carried out, i.e., lab work, doctor appointments, dental visits. Keep parents, physician and related personnel well informed concerning each client's health needs, problems, progress. Keep comprehensive and accurate nursing related records and keep said records up-to-date to meet all local, state and federal laws and ICF/MR regulations.  Perform related assigned nursing tasks, i.e., stocking supplies, ordering, cleaning work area as indicated and complete within an acceptable time frame. Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
