My
 Story

I initially became familiar with the Tammy Lynn Center shortly after I moved to Raleigh in 2002.  My business had been a sponsor for the Toast of the Triangle, and after attending my first year in town, the enjoyment of the event kept me hooked with much knowledge of the cause.  During 2007, I learned of the original tie my company had to the Toast, though a strong business relationship with Tom Morrison, a TLC board member, and I learned of Tom's personal family connection to the center.  That heartfelt story inspired me to call and ask for a tour to see the mission first-hand.  Maria Hernandez and Mary Freeman showed me around and I saw the loving care and demanding work by dedicated employees to children and young adults that so desperately need this special care.  Having two small children of my own, it touched me to think of the financial and emotional stress these families who have children of special needs must be under.

Any parent knows how difficult daily routines are and the exhaustion of busy schedules - but nothing could compare to trying to manage with a child whose needs parents can't always meet with typical parenting.  I have felt that serving at Tammy Lynn is a way for me to live out my faith calling to "help the least of these" in our community.  It reminds me of the blessings we all have and the humility with which we need to serve our community and those in need.  It brings me joy just to be a part of such a devoted organization.

I would love for any friends & acquaintances to join me in supporting the Tammy Lynn Center.  I have previously issued challenges that my family has matched.  I am committed to repeating this and your donation will go further than the dollars you give!  Please consider a donation of $50 or more as possible to help this much needed mission in our community for those less fortunate.
