On June 4, 2004…
…my wife gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy and our world changed forever. Leading up to this day we had made preparations to accommodate this newest member of our family, and fortunately for us just about everything went according to plan. But as the weeks passed by and we settled into our new routine, my mind began to wonder what this experience would have been like if it had turned out differently.
What if our son had been born with a disability? What if we couldn’t care and provide for him? What if we had to hire professionals to help us with the raising of our son? What if, at this current day, he had an accident that resulted in a disability? Where would we turn for help?
It was precisely these thoughts that turned our attention to the blessing of the Tammy Lynn Center. The work being performed in a loving and caring environment brings peace of mind to those who have family in their care, and should bring peace of mind to others knowing that such a wonderful organization exists right in our backyard. The Center is a diverse organization providing a multitude of services both on their campus and in the community.
As one of many volunteers to the Center, and as a current member on the Board of Directors, my goal is to help raise funds to allow the Center to expand services to the many families in need of care. Each year our family contributes $2,000 towards an annual $15,000 fundraising goal. I ask you to join us in supporting the Center and their great mission of caring for children and adults with special needs by making the Tammy Lynn Center a recipient of your annual charitable gifts. Would you begin today by making a contribution of $100 or more? Of course, any amount will be greatly appreciated.
