Leaving a Legacy…
In my daily life I have the privilege of helping families plan their financial future. That almost always includes a plan to leave a legacy in the lives of their children and in their community. It is wonderful work that brings me a great sense of personal and professional satisfaction. A few of my clients have shared with me the challenges faced when their family includes those with developmental disabilities. While there are many strategies for dealing with the financial impact this brings, I was never really connected with the practical daily challenges they face in caring for their loved ones. Until I met David and Ann White. If any family has defined what it means to raise a family full of challenges, and to do so in loving and graceful ways, David and Ann are that family. I have seen firsthand the way they have cared for and educated their special needs son, and how the Tammy Lynn Center has been an invaluable resource to their family.
David invited me to tour of the Tammy Lynn Center, and it was an eye-opening experience, to say the least. Having seen firsthand the level of service, dedication and the nurturing environment created for the residents, it was obvious that the Tammy Lynn Center was a value to the community and to the families utilizing the facility and services. The smiles on the residents' faces were proof enough that the Tammy Lynn mission was being realized on a daily basis. I felt honored to be asked to get more involved.
The Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities needs our Community’s support in order to continue to provide the level of services needed. I ask everyone to take a minute to browse our website and get a sense of the great work that goes on at the Center. After that, consider making a gift, perhaps $25. Help contribute to the success and well-being of an individual with special needs.
