Robin Brooks, MSW
Robin has a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a specialty in Children and Families. She has worked in early intervention for 25 years, predominantly in Wake County. Robin has a wide range of experience working with children with various developmental disabilities including Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, and Fragile X as well as children born prematurely, who are medically fragile or are showing global delays.  She especially enjoys babies and is available to provide once-a-month developmental therapy services to children at high risk for delays.  Robin serves as the Lead Therapist for the Early Intervention Team.

Trish Foster, MEd
Trish has a Master’s from NC State and has worked with children with special needs for 10+ years.  Trish is the parent of a special needs child and is able guide parents through the maze of early intervention.  She has had training in many therapy techniques and has experience working with children with a wide spectrum of abilities.  She especially enjoys working with children with challenging behaviors, communication disorders, and/or delayed social skills, but does not limit herself to one type of child.  She works well with families and enjoys providing services in a child’s natural environment.  Trish serves the Garner and surrounding area.

Mary Lou Gelblum, PhD
Mary Lou has worked at Tammy Lynn Center for over eight years, but has been "in the field" forever, having grown up with a sister with diagnoses of mental retardation, autism, and cerebral palsy.  Over the past 5 yeats, she has developed keen interests in autism and Down Syndrome, and uses her education from UNC and the University of Washington to offer a variety of approaches,  She loves interacting with the children and their immediate AND extended families.

Mary Henson, MEd
Mary received her Master’s in Special Education in May 2007 with majors in both Intellectual Disabilities and Learning Disabilities.  She has 15 + years of experience working with those with Autism from ages 1 ½ - adult.  Mary taught children with Autism in a self-contained classroom for 3 years using the TEACCH method.  She is familiar with methodologies such as ABA, TEACCH, Greenspan’s Floortime, and alternative strategies.  She has some knowledge of French and has a scientific background in genetics and sociology in her undergraduate degree.  She works best with children with Autism and with families who need assistance in providing structure in the home during play, leisure, and daily routines.  She has one-on-one therapy experience as well as group therapy experience.  Mary serves western Wake County (Cary, Apex, Morrisville, and southwest Raleigh).

Janet Young, BSW
Janet is a recent transplant from the Los Angeles area where she has spent more than a decade working with young children and their families in various capacities.  She has been with the Early Intervention Program since 2006 as a developmental therapist.  Janet served as a child advocate for the Children’s Law Center of Los Angeles, assessing the social and developmental needs of dependant children 0-3 years.  She also brings a wealth of experience in her advocacy for young children as a former case manager in foster care.
