Habilitation Specialist (Licensed Teacher)
Minimum Education/ Experience: Bachelor's degree in Special Education with current and valid North Carolina Dept. of Public Instruction "A" license in Exceptional Children – severely/profoundly handicapped, or mentally handicapped, or Special Education: adapted Curriculum. Meet NC QDDP qualifications. Valid North Carolina driver's license required.

Brief Description of Work Performed:
Assess students using formal and informal evaluations and write formal habilitation assessments as required. Develop and implement comprehensive individual education plans for students. Regularly plan, monitor, evaluate and update each student's individual program in conjunction with other Interdisciplinary Team members. Design an appropriate learning environment in which active treatment is provided to meet the needs of each student. Meet personal care needs of each student including toileting, tooth brushing, skin care, etc. Supervise/evaluate and participate in recruitment of Habilitation Aides. Serve as a member of an Interdisciplinary Team.

Hours/Days of Work:
Monday-Friday 8:00am- 4:00pm or as scheduled by supervisor Pay Rate: Salaried Position
