I Admit It…
I have always felt a sense of responsibility to help those less fortunate and have always made a token financial contribution to make myself feel like I was helping. I was recruited to the Board of Directors by a couple of dear friends who asked that I take a look at Tammy Lynn to see if the its mission was something I could help support in a deeper way.
My first tour of the Tammy Lynn Center was an eye-opening experience, to say the least. I was amazed that I used to work less than 200 yards from the facility and did not know truly what Tammy Lynn was all about. Having seen firsthand the level of service, dedication and the nurturing environment created for the residents, it was obvious that the Tammy Lynn Center was a value to the community and to the families utilizing the facility and services. The smiles on the residents' faces were proof enough that the Tammy Lynn mission was being realized on a daily basis.
I felt compelled to get more involved and to assist in anyway that I could. I was happy to know the community had such a service that took care of those with special needs. The value of services offered by the Tammy Lynn Center provides the nurturing environment we all strive to have within our own families. Families who have special needs circumstances should have a programs such as those provided by Tammy Lynn to allow families the opportunity to provide a nurturing environment in their home or at the Tammy Lynn facilities to foster the environment that will enrich the life of a special needs individual.
Having seen firsthand the joy and happiness brought to the students and residents of Tammy Lynn has helped me realize how lucky I am. I feel a sense of responsibility to help support and solve the challenges faced by the Tammy Lynn Center so they can continue to provide what can only be described as the work of Angels.
The Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities needs our Community’s support in order to continue to provide the level of services needed. I ask everyone to take a minute to browse our website and get a sense of the great work that goes on at the Center. After that, consider making a gift, perhaps $25. Help contribute to the success and well-being of an individual with special needs.
